MOBILE EYE HEALTH

Meeting people where they are and safely connecting them to vision care services.

Our ECN Purpose Mobile Eye Health van allows us to meet people where they are and safely connect underserved individuals to vision care. We travel to specific locations coordinated with our partners in the community, and where our programs will best serve individuals.

If you see the ECN Purpose Mobile Eye Health van around, remember the good we are doing by engaging with communities in need to address the gap in vision care and eye health education.

Please consider making a donation to help fund our mission or volunteer your time at our events.

Learn About Us

What services do you offer?

With our Mobile Eye Health van, we serve the community by providing eye health education, vision screenings, and eye exams. Our team consists of volunteer licensed eye doctors, optometric technicians, and dedicated ECN Purpose staff.

Are your events open to the public?

We partner with other nonprofit organizations in the community to provide vision screenings and eye exams at scheduled events for their members. When our event partners open their events to the public, we will list the details on our website and social media.

I don't have health or vision insurance, can I still get a free exam/glasses?

Insurance coverage is not required when we have events with our nonprofit partners as all services are provided free of charge. If you cannot attend our events for these services, please note that Medi-Cal provides eyewear for its eligible members.

When is your next event?

We host fundraising and eye health education events in the community throughout the year. Check our website and follow along our social media channels for upcoming events in your area.

Can I volunteer at your events?

We are always looking for volunteers! If you are interested, fill out our Volunteer Sign-Up Form on our website.

I cannot attend the event but still want to help, how can I do that?

Donations are gratefully accepted to further our mission in bringing vision services to those in need. If you work in the eyewear industry and want to donate, we are in need of lens blanks and children’s frames. Check out our donation page for ways you can help or email donations@ecnpurpose.org if you have any questions.

Serving Our Community

  • ECN Purpose Vietnamese Community Health Fair

    Community Health Fair

    Westminster, California

We’re thrilled to have joined forces at the Community Health Fair, hosted by UCLA’s VCH.

Special shoutout to the incredible Dr. Phuong Le from Horizon Optometry! Not only did he generously volunteer his time as our optometrist at the Community Health Fair, but he also played a pivotal role in shaping our mobile eye program’s journey. From offering invaluable advice to witnessing our field equipment in action, it’s a full circle moment of gratitude and collaboration.

Huge appreciation goes out to our dedicated volunteer technicians who went above and beyond to serve our community with vision screenings at the Health Fair! Their tireless commitment and hard work made this event a true success.

  • ECN Purpose Robyne's Next Vision Screenings

    Surf City Screenings

    Huntington Beach, California

It warms our hearts to be able to bring vision care to people who may not otherwise have services available to them.

ECN Purpose partnered with Robyne’s Nest to provide students in their program with vision screenings to assess their eye health and need for prescription eyewear. Dr. Jacqueline Vu administered the vision screenings and answered questions the students had about their vision.

For many students at Robyne’s Nest, regular health examinations have not been a part of their lives. At the event, ECN Purpose provided an educational session on “Signs You May Need an Eye Exam” and general eye health.

  • ECN Purpose & Covenant House

Eye Exams for Orange County Youths

    Anaheim, California

Our ECN Purpose Mobile Eye Health Unit made an appearance at Covenant House. Dr. Thu Phan, of Fiat Lux Optometry, generously volunteered her time and services to provide free eye exams for the youth at Covenant House. Helping people achieve their fullest visual potential is Dr. Phan's passion.

"Our youth were beyond excited to get their eyes tested and so very grateful for the care and support provided to them," stated Covenant House, about the care arranged by ECN Purpose.

We are thankful for our partners in allowing us to serve our community.

  • ECN Purpose & Operation Be Kind

    Back-to-School Vision Screenings

    Irvine, California

ECN Purpose partnered with Operation Be Kind at their annual “Back-to-School” event helping Title I students in Orange County. Invited students and parents were given the opportunity to sign up for vision screenings.

With its Mobile Eye Health van, ECN Purpose was onsite providing vision screenings by Edward Tran, O.D. and John Monteleone, O.D. We also distributed educational material regarding how vision can affect learning.

We believe this event made a lasting impact on the lives of children who attended with their families.
