ECN Purpose was honored to once again partner with local nonprofit, Operation Be Kind, for their annual “Back-to-School” event helping Title I school students. Invited students were given the opportunity to sign up for vision screenings.

With its Mobile Eye Health Unit, ECN Purpose was onsite providing vision screenings by Thu Phan, O.D. and John Monteleone, O.D, along with dedicated volunteer technicians.

The kids also had fun playing vision games while reading about how vision can affect learning.

ECN Purpose is honored to have partnered with Covenant House to provide essential eye exams for their youth. Covenant House is a dedicated nonprofit youth shelter offering sanctuary and support to young people experiencing homelessness.

We are immensely grateful to Dr. Kelly Tran from Tustin Market Place Optometry for volunteering her time and expertise. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Tran is committed to delivering top-quality eye care.

Robyne’s Nest and the City of Huntington Beach hosted the first annual Youth Wellness Fair on May 18, 2024.

This was a free, hands-on, interactive event for youth ages 10-21. Attendees learned fun, positive ways to improve overall wellness — focused on the 4 pillars of wellness: mental health, sleep, exercise, and nutrition.

ECN Purpose was there to provide a fun and educational game to learn information on the importance of eye health.

We had a great time connecting with our community!

We teamed up with local business, Trung Nguyen E-Coffee, for a ‘Coffee for a Cause’ fundraiser.

Every sip supported our mission and helped make a difference. A percentage of sales from every purchase of coffee, tea, and snacks, contributed toward ECN Purpose.

We had so much fun connecting with the community and caffeinating for a cause together!

March 15, 2024 | Hard Rock Café New York

Rock4Sight performed their last New York City show at the iconic Hard Rock Café in Times Square during Vision Expo East on March 15, 2024. This year's theme, "A Night of R&B, Rock, Country, and Metal," showcased a lineup of talented musicians in the vision care industry.

This spectacular event raised funds through corporate donations and ticket sales. Proceeds from the previous two years helped ECN Purpose purchase a vehicle and then customize it into a fully functioning mobile unit for our Mobile Eye Health Program.

As the night drew to a close, Rock4Sight co-chairs John Alofs and Bob Stein presented a check for $173,000 to ECN Purpose, the event's beneficiary.

We’re thrilled to have joined forces at the Community Health Fair, hosted by UCLA’s VCH. Together, we’re making strides towards a healthier, happier community.

Special shoutout to the incredible Dr. Phuong Le from Horizon Optometry! Not only did he generously volunteer his time as our optometrist at the Community Health Fair, but he also played a pivotal role in shaping our mobile eye program’s journey. From offering invaluable advice to witnessing our field equipment in action, it’s a full circle moment of gratitude and collaboration.

Dr. Zhao’s soothing presence made even the youngest ones feel at ease during their first eye check-up.

It warms our hearts to be able to bring vision care to people who may not otherwise have services available to them.

ECN Purpose partnered with Robyne’s Nest to provide students in their program with vision screenings to assess their eye health and need for prescription eyewear. Dr. Jacqueline Vu administered the vision screenings and answered questions the students had about their vision.

For most students at Robyne’s Nest, regular health examinations have not been a part of their lives. At the event, ECN Purpose provided an educational session on “Signs You May Need an Eye Exam” and general eye health.

We had so much fun hosting our first Bear Decorating Fundraiser!

Participants made a difference this holiday season by spending a crafty afternoon getting cute stuffed animals ready for their new homes.

The stuffed animals were donated to local charity, Laura's House, in support of their 2023 Spirit of Empowerment Holiday Giving Program.

Our ECN Purpose Mobile Eye Health Unit made an appearance at Covenant House. Dr. Thu Phan, of Fiat Lux Optometry, generously volunteered her time and services to provide free eye exams for the youth at Covenant House. Helping people achieve their fullest visual potential is Dr. Phan's passion.

"Our youth were beyond excited to get their eyes tested and so very grateful for the care and support provided to them," stated Covenant House, about the care arranged by ECN Purpose.

This year's theme, "A Night of Tribute Bands", treated concert attendees to classic hits by The Blues Brothers, The Beatles, Bruno Mars, Fleetwood Mac, and Led Zeppelin.

The bands who performed during the rock concert are volunteer musicians in the vision care industry, comprised of five different ensembles: Zonules of Zinn, The Base Curve Band, Punktum Remotum, Retrospex, and Visionary.

With the support of corporate sponsors and revenue from ticket sales, the concert raised $172,402.

As a newly formed nonprofit organization, we are grateful for our partnership with Rock 4 Sight as our first fundraiser.

The music, production, marketing, and organization are all a volunteer effort. Event goers enjoyed a great night of energy, dancing, and a long-awaited camaraderie with this industry that we all love so much.

It was a very special moment when ECN Purpose was presented the funds raised, a check for $146,000.
